Hi Forum. :)
I actually found my password! So I am willing to join this forum actively since I love After Forever and should practice my English and Dutch. (and am really bored nowadays...)

Hi people,

Seems I cant post a new topic yet as I am only  a newbie.

Still, wanted to post this to give anyone else in the UK an idea of the set list (setlist) if they are interested.

This was last night at the Bierkeller in Bristol, UK.

We got there approximately 8:00 and queued for something like 10 minutes.
Not the sort of venue I have become accustomed to (more a club than a gig venue). T-shirts very reasonable in price in comparison to other bands I have seen.

The band came on at approximately 10 past 9 and opened with Discord (from the lastest album). From the off, they looked to be enjoying themselves which was important given that with the small crowd, things could have gone flat very quickly.

I have heard describe my others how the band is very tight together and this was borne out. Floor and the guitarists (sorry not learnt their names yet) knew exactly where to move to and when to back off or come to the front.

The sound in the Bierkeller was LOUD but it was pleasant not to have the drums or bass drowning out the vocals.

Oh, maximum respect for the number of windmills Floor did. She must have been dizzy by the end!!

As you will see on the setlist, the band played "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in the middle. Floor went off for a rest. Now having seen Metallica at Wembley last month, they obviously had a lot to compete with and the band didnt come up short. It was loud and heavy. Just how I like it.

Given the size of the venue, it meant we could stand only feet away from the band which was a real treat.

On the whole, it was a great night. The band entertained, the crowd responded and the band just got better and better. Did notice, one of the road crew (I presume it was) videoing some of the songs. If there is a DVD with some of this show on it then I would be sooo interested.

Thanks to the sound desk guy for the setlist and massive thanks to the band. You certainly gave 4 people at the Bierkeller a really good night!

I wish they played more songs from Invisible Circles but good to see that they still play old songs at all. On the small festival I saw them this summer there was only time for Digital Deceit and Monolith (I think it was... o.O).

And thx, Florian. :) Now I am not dependent on your news in Epica forum any more. ;)
